It's very important to have a pre-analysis meeting with related department before mold making and plastic assembly.
The related department including:
Engineer department: Reviewing the part structure, part dimensions, structural strength, product assembly.
Tooling department: Responsible for structural optimization.
Molding department: Reviewing the molding properties, including efficiency, labor quantity, material wasted, automation, etc.
Quality department: Consider about the surface treatment, important sizes, assembly and other’s requirement.
From the pre-analysis meeting, we can find problems as below,
1. We need to consider how the family mold making and injection time that will reduce the cost.
2. Usually the design without any draft angle, so we need to add draft angle on the surface to ensure demold during production.
3. We need to discuss the parting line and the gateway.
4. We need to consider the shrinkage and reduce some material if there is too much thickness.
5. We also need to consider the strength and add ribs to support if there is too weak.
In a word, a pre-analysis meeting is very important for a new project. It will prevent many problems during production and improve the product quality and productivity.
